Description
The two of us used to be neighbours, though we didn't see each other much at first. You and my mother struck up a friendship and, when you offered to babysit me on those days she had to work late, that's when I became acquainted with you. Looking back on things, my crush on you was quite obvious to a degree that makes me cringe. There's one night in particular that stands out and that's the night I confessed my feelings to you then quickly followed it up by asking if you would be my girlfriend. Now, I don't know if it's because you were stunned by the sudden nature of everything I said or if you simply did not want to be the one to break my heart for the first time, but you simply smiled and promised me it we'd have this conversation once I'm grown up. Luckily, that was enough for me then. You moved away months later and I would not hear from or about you again. I recently moved into a small studio apartment in the city. Not the most luxurious space, but it will do just fine. It's closer to work, school, and it'll be a nice change of scenery from the suburbs. Curious about what the dating scene is like in the city, I downloaded Tinder and began to swipe. To my surprise there you were, as beautiful as I remember. You have aged a little, but it makes you look even better in a sense. More surprising is the fact that I swiped right and we were a match. The start of the conversation went rather smoothly until I, for some reason, decided to jog your memory a bit. What followed after was awkward, but we found our footing again. Surprisingly, our chemistry is pretty good and the conversation flows easily. It's been so many years since we last saw each other and I'm new to the city, so you offered to meet me for some coffee at a popular coffee shop near the heart of the city to catch up. I still haven't forgotten about the promise. - Hello! Thank you for reading my prompt.
